Hey there, I’m Kira. I’m a creative designer living in Chicago.
I’m currently the Editorial Manager at Nava, a government consultancy that helps some of the largest federal and state agencies solve highly scrutinized technology modernization challenges. At Nava, I oversee our brand voice and tone, drive content strategy and content design on our site, and develop a range of earned and owned media. Previously, I was the marketing & design manager at Numero Group — a Chicago-based archival record label. There, I developed our visual identity and owned design across social, web, and print.
I am also a freelance designer and offer my services to local artists and businesses. Narrative and storytelling are through lines in my design, and I'm constantly thinking about what associations or metaphors my design choices elicit. I'm a painter by training, so my design is also heavily influenced by color, figure, and fine art movements such as Dadaism and Abstract Expressionism.
I have a master of science in journalism from Northwestern and a bachelor of arts in creative writing and visual art from the University of Chicago. I am also a professional musician. You can learn more about that here.
